Personal Success in the New Year
Your almost there! 2013 was a great year and 2014 will be even better. Back in the day, when I was younger I remember testing in January at school and the change of the semester. Understand that 2014 has the promise to be a great year for you. Establishing your goals for the new year is critical to your success. There are three critical facst to keep in mind when establishing goals.
1. When establishing a goal, be sure that they are SMART. Specific, Measureable, Attainable, Realistic, Timed.
2. It takes time for a change to become an established habit. It is important to make your desired outcome a routine. At a minimum, implement the practice for three weeks (21 days) to begin to formulate the habit. Your brain needs time to get used to the idea that this new thing you're doing is part of your regular routine.
3. Understant the "Why". Why have you established the goal is important. This is important because the key to making any change is to find the desire within yourself — you have to do it because you want it, not because a girlfriend, boyfriend, coach, parent, or someone else wants you to. To stay on track with ease, obligate you goal to yourself.
This year will be great. Resolve to be better by setting goals!
